There are many ways to donate to KSDS. Donations assist in the operation of KSDS including the conduction of the specialized training of the assistance dogs.

Online Giving

KSDS, Inc. depends upon public donations to continue its work. You can help! Making a donation through our secure server is fast and easy, and when we receive your donation, we will send you an acknowledgement in the mail for tax purposes. We accept VISA and MasterCard. Thank you for your support!

Please note:  We use a nonprofit service to process our credit card transactions. LOC IND CH ORG is the name that will appear on your credit card statement, not KSDS. Using a 3rd party helps us keep our costs low and allows us to spend more time and money on our programs! Memorial/Honorarium Donations

If you would like to make a donation honoring someone, your donation will be mentioned in The Pathway (the KSDS newsletter). Or maybe you would like to honor the memory of your pet or an assistance dog. If you’re interested in honoring a special canine friend, you may be interested in our Cheers to Careers Memorial Program. With a $50 donation, you may create an inscription (15 words max.) that will be made on a brass plate. This plate will be placed on a puzzle piece in the Cheers to Careers display located in the Training Building at KSDS. Memorial/Honorarium Donations are also listed here.

Sponsor a Team

Each service or guide team is valued at $15,000 and consists of a trained dog and the person who is visually impaired or physically disabled. This includes the costs of the dog and the team involved in preparing it for service. Each student receives a $1,000 scholarship for motel room expenses and some meals while in training which is paid by the Kansas Lions.

KSDS currently places an average of 20 teams per year, with a goal of gradually expanding that number over the next several years.

If you or your company would like to support a team, the total cost of $14,000 includes, but is not limited to, housing, training, veterinary care, equipment, travel and other related expenses. In return for this donation you will receive:

* A beautiful walnut plaque with a picture of the team you support and an inscription thanking you for that support. This is a great display item for your office wall or business entrance area.

* A plaque on the wall at KSDS

* The satisfaction of knowing the important role you have played in the vastly expanded independence experienced by your supported team.

Sponsor a Puppy

KSDS chooses to name puppies by giving each litter a theme to follow when names are chosen (example - the Snake litter). This helps to prevent the use of common names that may be repeated. It could be confusing to have more than one dog in training by the same name in a short period of time.

If you have a special name that would be perfect for a KSDS puppy, you can donate a $1,000.00 and name a very special puppy yourself. You will receive updates regarding the puppy as it transitions through puppy hood.

Sponsor a Litter

Puppies at KSDS are individually marked at the time of birth to monitor growth and development. A permanent identification tattoo is given when the puppy is five weeks old. At this time, the puppy is also named. Individuals or corporations can name a litter for a gift of $20,000.00.

Each litter is named by a theme. Many times a theme is chosen because of an event, action of puppies, or the theme of the parent’s name. By using a theme, KSDS can easily track the puppies in the litter.

Recent litters have been named after things such as hotels, spices and KC Royals players.
