KSDS Puppy Shower

Would you like to shower a puppy with some love? This is your opportunity to provide a "gift" to a puppy that is currently living at the Canine Housing Unit (CHU). These puppies live at the CHU until about eight weeks of age when they will go home with their volunteer Puppy Raisers.

KSDS FAST FACT:

KSDS only uses yellow and black Labrador Retrievers and Golden Retrievers.

Recent Birth Announcements:

6 newborn golden retriever puppies suckling from their mom Houli.

Brina and Bullit are proud parents to 9 healthy Golden Retriever puppies born on June 7, 2011. This is Brina's second litter. She is such a kind, gentle mother. There are 4 females and 5 males. They are growing very quickly.

Four yellow puppies and 2 black puppies are sleeping together in a pile. The pups are 2 weeks old and their eyes and ears and not yet open.

Hilton and Dozer are proud parents to 6 healthy Labrador Retriever puppies born on December 28, 2010. Hilton is being a very attentive mother, as always. The 2 black puppies and the 4 yellow puppies are growing quickly and will be going to their puppy raisers in March.

They are two weeks old in the photo and video. Soon their eyes and ears will be opening and their personalities will start to show. KSDS staff handles them daily. The early socialization helps them in their future career as assistance dogs and makes it easier on puppy raisers since the puppies will have been used to being handled by various people.
