** Covid-19 Update as of November 17, 2020 **
Dear KSDS Family and Friends,
First, we want to thank you for the outpouring of support we have received during this difficult time! We are taking the COVID-19 virus very seriously and are working hard to manage its impact. This situation is ever changing, and we are committed to the health and safety of our employees, graduates, and supporters. We are relying heavily on the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as local authorities. Based on their recommendations, KSDS will be doing the following precautions until further notice:
- KSDS staff are working remotely until January 4 to eliminate the potential spread of the disease.
- Essential staff will be on campus to take care of dogs following a weekly rotation
- KSDS will not be giving tours or be open to the general public
- No visitors/volunteers will be able to be on campus for the safety of our staff
- While essential employees are at work, they are practicing social distancing and wearing masks
- KSDS is always taking precautionary measures, such as washing of hands, extra cleaning, and additional sanitation of surfaces that are frequently touched
- Outside presentations scheduled before January 4, 2021 have been postponed
Although our physical office buildings are closed, we are still working remotely. We will be checking voicemails, replying to emails, and receiving mail during this time, so please continue to reach out to us and send donations, as you are able. We are especially grateful for even the smallest gift you may be able to give in this critical time.
As always, KSDS is committed to our mission and believes strongly in doing our part to help the greater good. We will follow this plan until January 4, 2021, at which point it will be re-assessed. Again, thank you for your support; we know these are very trying times for everyone.
We appreciate your understanding in this matter!
