Not every dog is destined for a working role—and that’s perfectly okay. At KSDS Assistance Dogs, Inc., we recognize that some dogs may experience a career change due to medical findings, temperament considerations, or simply because they prefer a life of leisure over one of public service. These dogs, while not suited for assistance work, make exceptional companions and beloved pets.

If you’re interested in adopting a Career Change Dog, we invite you to complete our online application. Once submitted, our Client Services team will review your information and contact you if a dog becomes available that matches your preferences and lifestyle. Our highest priority is ensuring the best possible match between the dog and their new home.

All KSDS Career Change Dogs:

Have been screened for temperament
Receive full medical care, including spay/neuter and vaccinations
Are maintained on a high-quality, nutritious diet

We ask for a suggested donation to help offset the cost of care and support our ongoing programs.
